Enabling or disabling auto-saving

Ensure the Preferences window is displayed (see above). Then:

  1. Use the File Auto-Save check box to enable or disable the automatic saving of drawings when you move to another drawing in the Browser window.
When this box is checked, if you have edited a drawing and select another drawing from the Browser window, the changes made to the previous drawing are automatically saved.
When this box is unchecked, you must ensure that you make regular saves of your work.

We recommend that you don't turn this option off.

Setting your preferred window layout

Ensure the Preferences window is displayed (see above). Then:

  1. Layout the windows as you would prefer them to be shown.
  1. Choose one of the window layout buttons, then click on the Store button. Your layout is then stored in that button.
If you store your layout in the def button it becomes the default layout that is used when InkPaint first starts.

Recalling a window layout

To recall one of the window layouts you have saved, first ensure that the Preferences window is displayed. Click on the relevant Window layout button, followed by the Apply button.

Setting the Painting window's background color

Ensure the Preferences window is displayed (see above). Then:

  1. Click on the border surrounding the color well.
The Color Chooser window is displayed.
  1. Choose a new color using the Color Chooser.
(For more information on how to use the Color Chooser, refer to Choosing colors.)
  1. Click on Save in the Preferences window, to set the color.
